My favorite Splurge Moment Foods!

Hi my loves. Okay so even though I try to maintain my dairy free, gluten free and organic lifestyle, there are times when I simply get the cravings! There are times when I want to indulge in what I like to call “sometimes foods”. There are times when I have splurge moments! I call these sometimes foods because even though they are healthier options, I would not consume them in large amounts and on a regular basis as well.

Before I would go completely off my lifestyle and just consume dairy, or things that my body would simply reject because of the length of time I’ve gone without consuming them.

So I had to come to a place where I was able to have a splurge moment, but still feel well. Because it just wasn’t fun anymore. And that’s when I discovered these oh so great splurge moment foods!

They are in no specific order. I wholeheartedly love each and everyone of them just the same. I feel like there are times when you should be entitled to simply have a moment, but always do what works best for you and your body.

I strive to always keep it clean even when I am having these times.

Okay let’s dive in!

  1. Dark chocolate

I absolutely love dark chocolate. There are actually some amazing benefits of consuming dark chocolate. It is loaded with antioxidants and it can contribute to lowering your risk of heart disease, just to name a few. I found this incredible brand called HU. Their chocolate is vegan, gluten free, dairy free, contains no sugar, refined sugar, sugar alcohols, or palm oil. AND it tastes delicious!!! They have different flavor options for you to choose from as well. I usually get a bar and just take a block or two when I feel for something sweet.

2. Dairy free ice-cream

Like seriously whoever came out with this concept is a genius!!! Some of the benefits of eating dairy free ice-cream include less bloating, clearer skin, less oxidative stress and improved digestion. There are so many options when it comes to dairy free ice-cream now. There are ones made from almond, soy, cashew or coconut milk. My favorite ones are the ones made from cashew or coconut milk. And my favorite brand and flavor is the SoDelicious salted caramel cluster Cashew milk. My goodness it’s so scrumptious! I buy one pint and take a few spoons as needed. They try to use organic ingredients whenever possible.

Some of the other amazing goodies that their brand entails are:

  1. Certified vegan and Non-GMO Project Verified

  2. No artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners

  3. Free from hydrogenated oils and trans-fats

  4. Always cholesterol free

  5. And tasty as can be

3. Vegan pizza!

Yes baby! In my opinion, it’s so much better than regular pizza (don’t kill me real cheese lovers lol). But for real, if you get one made properly, it can seriously be incredibly yummy! I got spoiled because my husband now makes them at home from scratch! He even makes the dough from scratch with almond flour. He adds organic pizza sauce and toppings like pineapples, spinach, mushrooms, jalapeños, belle peppers and basil. He also incorporates this garlic spread, vegan ricotta and the only vegan cheese we ever eat, which is the brand called Violife. We usually get the just like cheddar flavor. He then tops it off with oregano, fresh ground pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil! If you’re not hungry at this point, something is wrong! But I do not like when he makes it though, because the splurge moment turns into a splurge day, or sometimes even two splurge days! But seriously though, vegan pizza is marvelous. There are also a few spots I like to get it from as well, but of course nothing compares to my hubby’s homemade version.

So that’s it my loves. Let me know if you have ever tried any of these. Which ones are you going to try and I would love to hear some of your “splurge moments” foods.
