A letter from our Founder- Black Lives Matter

Our hearts are aching and our spirits are breaking over the sad realities that we are facing in America. We are praying for peace, love, unity, harmony, oneness, reconciliation, healing, fairness, change, humanization, inclusiveness, renewed minds and justice; we are praying for America, we are praying for the world. We desire to be a part of radical change and impactful action. We love you all and we are sending warm thoughts, and love and light into each and everyone of your spaces.

United we stand and we utter the words, “Black Lives Matter”.

When we say these words, it does not mean that other lives do not, but we need to stand up for equality, justice, systemic changes and dismantle racism. We need to value Black lives.

So what have we been doing?

In support of ending racism, systemic racism, hatred, brutalities and dehumanization, the funding collected for our first initiative Sister-Sister, will be dedicated to pour into the lives of black women who are wholeheartedly working on becoming the best versions of themselves for their families and communities. We will be utilizing these donations to pour into their lives, dreams, aspirations, and businesses. We will also be implementing follow up programs to ensure that they stay on the path to becoming the best versions of themselves.

We organized a peaceful protest, Rooted in Prayer & Love in our local community. And that is truly what it embodied. There is so much power in unity. We prayed, worshipped, lifted our voices, expressed our pain, shared, loved on each other, highlighted action steps, and took it to the streets! Our children and youth were present as well. We were so thankful that we had the amazing covering of our Boyntonbeach Police. It was empowering, life changing, impactful, and simply beautiful. Magnificent things happen when we get on one accord. We would like to utter enormous notes of gratitude to everyone who attended and supported.

We also attended a virtual anti-racism peaceful zoom protests with Tylynn Nguyen. The solidarity was simply beautiful. We made signs, shared our hearts, and discussed action plans to be a part of the change as well. There is so much power in unity. We were honored and humbled to be a part. The information collected will also be sent to Senator Karen Bass of California and the representative for Minnesota as well.

We attended a prayer and open discussion call with the beautiful soul Beau as well.

We have been giving to Organizations like Grassroots Law Project.

The Grassroots Law Project organizes volunteers around smart strategies, using the latest technology and informed by deep legal expertise, to do the fierce, necessary work that results in justice.

They are working on cases where people have been unjustly targeted, arrested, convicted, sentenced, and even killed, along racial lines – and we're advocating for deep systemic change wherever we can.

We have been supporting Black Businesses, and being intentional about pouring into the smaller black ownded businesses, companies and organizations as well.

Some businesses and organizations we supported are:

Elyts by Jen, Gorjess Skincare, Black Girl Sunscreen, Suite Eleven, Black Line Up, Vavvoune, Fenty, Stella & Haas, Goldie Shop, Èpifenè,

Donatasco Skin Food, Sheeann Candles, Camille Rose, Carol’s Daughter, and more.

We have been diligently educating ourselves a lot more, reading books, and having necessary conversations as well.

We have to stand against racial discrimination and injustice. We need to empathize with our fellow brothers and sisters. As a human race we have to start loving each other from a pure and heartfelt place.

Let’s have a moment:

to reflect, listen, pay respect to all the beautiful people who have lost their lives to these senseless and gut wrenching killings.

A moment for:

Breonna Taylor
Ahmaud Aubrey
George Floyd
And all Black lives
Because black lives do matter.

We are all special, worthy and valuable, but the reality is black individuals have been treated in a harsh and unjust manner.
We no longer have the luxury of oblivion.
It is heart breaking. And we must take a stand.

I wanted to share some scriptures and then I wanted to play this song that has resonated with my spirit.

Galatians 6:2
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

1 John 4:7
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 12:26-27
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part shares in its joy.
You are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of it.

We truly wanted to urge you to harness some peace, a moment to replenish, and a space to simply breathe. We love you Balanced Women community. Share in the comments below how you’re feeling. The good, the not so good, and everything in between. If you have any prayer requests as well we would love to hear them. This is truly a scared and safe space that’s infused with love, comfort, care, support and uplifting. Hold on to your purpose, hold on to your sanity, hold on to your joy, hold on to hope, hold on...

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

We are stronger together.

So even as we actively participate, we are also continuing to pray for peace, love, unity, inclusion, equality, change, systemic shifts, justice, oneness, reconciliation, and healing. It aches intensely, but we are hopeful that change is brewing.
